A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a mistake. The negative aspect of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam emails, but this issue can be resolved by using anti-spam protection software. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud web hosting platform and you have a web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel offers quite a few features, but it is amazingly simple to use, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just a click. All the email addresses that you have will be listed in this section alphabetically and you will simply need to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the given email address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires yet another mouse click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be configured with several clicks if you’ve got a semi-dedicated plan with us. The hosting account will be administered through our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes using any domain hosted here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox, you will need to click on the sign with the exact same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling this feature can be done in the exact same manner and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all option has already been activated for a given domain name, you will receive a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or edit any feature automatically.
